April 5, 2013: British Invasion!

'Ello duckies! We're taking things across the pond today. After a brief winter relapse since Monday, it's finally getting nice enough that I don't need to be wearing a coat over this outfit, and the impending week is promising mid-60s from Sunday on, so celebration time!

I've always been hesitant about baggy or flowy tops , but this one is just too darn comfy, and not that terribly large. The vest helps keeps things structures, plus adds some extra biker babe style to the mix with the shirt's studs.

I got inspired to pick up the plaid pants after seeing Ben Whishaw's oh-so-lovely  new Q reincarnation in Skyfall. (Starting to pick up on my geeky Brit boy obsession, are we?) Simple subtle print mixing!

"Pants-mounted spy-cam?...We'll leave those tricks to Goldfinger."
And finally we meet the significant other footwear of my life! These boots live on my toesies more often than anything else. When I wasn't in my nice clothes working over the fall and winter, I was rocking these puppies. They truly are the blue jeans of the foot world! I'll obviously still be going around in them on days when it isn't too blisteringly hot. (It'll be ages before it comes to that anyway!)

The scarf is a nice balance between warm enough in the day's windy-chilly moments and light enough for letting the sunshine in. Giving another hat-tip to Jolly Ol' England, the rose earrings were at the register at Burlington, and I had to pick them up in both red and yellow. When life hands you 99 cent studs, you don't leave them sitting there!

Finally, can we take a moment to discuss how awesome this purse is? It's pretty small, just slightly not spacious enough to hold my phone, but I can use it for my ID, keys, cash, chap stick and Tic-Tacs!

BONUS!

I just need to take a moment to address the best thing to happen to my lips since Carmex. I am completely earnest when I say that every woman should own a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.

EVERY. SINGLE. WOMAN.

I have never been a lover of lipstick, but these things are a completely different animal. They're vibrant, keep your lips soft instead of sucking out the moisture, and are as easy to apply as doodling in a coloring book. Plus, at $9 each, they're easy on the pockets! I currently own six of them; Adore, Romantic (seen here), Sweetheart, Lovesick, Cherish and Rendezvous. The last one is bright orange (very haute right now), which had me nervous at first, but don't fret! It turns more into a quasi-coral, and it great with my skin color. Kudos to Boyfriend on recommending I pick it up!
