Anyway, this shirt! Isn't it the sweetest? I don't know how visible the details are here, but it is adorned with sequins, seed beads and tiny bits of elf-sized chain all at the same time! The design reminds me of one of those drawings on cards and posters and whatnot they sell with the fairies sitting on bubbles or the moon. Which I own a poster of, for the record. Modern hippie here!
To warm things up, I first slipped on this wide-collar top. It isn't button-down, just sort of a V-neck long-sleeve tee with a collar attached. So comfy! It also has straps for holding the sleeves cuffed up. The layers benefit both shirts, since the moon shirt is rather translucent solo and the teal one has too low a neck to be decent without involving a cami.
To mix in a pinch of grunge, I added grey skinnies and my black combat boots. These are cooler than basic grey jeans for two one reasons. One, the double zipper detailing in the pocket area; unfortunately, there is a heartbreaking lack of real pockets underneath. Boo. Two, instead of being a solid color, they have this faded rocky texture that's much more 80s.
I was surprised to realize that with the ear cuff fad popping up lately, anime conventions are actually stylish! I bought this double star cuff from the wonderfully talented Hikari wo Sagasu at a convention last month. Check out more merch at http://hikariwosagasu.storenvy.com, it's all incredible. Going asymmetrical today; with something like this, only one earring needed! The mixed bangles twinkle like little stars too!
